This session will focus on creating meaningful Memory Bracelets, designed to honor loved ones who have passed or celebrate cherished relationships with those still in our lives. Join us for a heartfelt and memorable experience as we craft bracelets that embody love and remembrance.

TFD will be hosting Youth Mental Health First-Aid Training in partnership with Community Outreach at Family Service & Mental Health Center of Cicero for community members. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), designed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among Youth. It is an all-day training, and participants will receive a certificate that is good for three years. Participants will have some pre-work on their own time before the training on MHFA Connect (website). This normally equals 1 to 2 hours of work. Then we would have the training in person on 9/26. At the end of the training, participants will complete some post-work (survey and exam) on MHFA Connect, and once they receive a passing grade, they will receive their certificate.

This training is ideal for:

• Community workers

• First responders

• Teachers

• Youth Advocates

In this hands-on session, you'll learn to make your own unique worry dolls using colorful fabrics, yarns, and simple techniques. As we create, we will gently explore the worries we carry and discover healthy ways to process them through mindfulness and reflection.

Calling all Creative Entrepreneurs ages 18-24. We are excited to launch our first cohort for Mentorship 2.0, a 10-week, hybrid program on Thursdays from 6 PM to 8 PM (August 21st to October 23rd). Selected young adults will be paid a $20/hr stipend for their time. Young adults must be able to attend all dates and have earned income from your creative business.

Applications are due by: August 12th. Interviews will be conducts August 14 and 15th.

On June 5th, we are hosting our second annual Black and Brown Solidarity Convening! This event features cultural experiences and art exhibitions planned and submitted by youth that represent identity, history, and social change. You can expect to see various cultural healing practices through music, art, and spoken word performed by youth and community members. We hope to see you there!

The Firehouse Dream is partnering with Maywood Homeland Security to host CPR training for Proviso community members seeking certification. Please make sure you can attend the full workshop when you RSVP to get certified, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. TFD will provide light snacks.

Participants will engage in making identity collages, which will help explore feelings and foster a positive self-image. Join our support group for parents and caregivers who have teens and young adults struggling with their mental health.
