How To Create For Brands

In this workshop, the mentees got a chance to learn more about what a brand is. They discussed what The Firehouse Dream brand means and how that would apply it to different aspects content creation. After this discussion, the mentees got the chance to create ideas for stickers and key chains while keeping in mind what The Firehouse Dream’s brand is all about. There were some great ideas with a lot of thought put behind them! We can’t wait to see which stickers get selected and become a part of our store.

Headshots And More....

Today in mentorship, our mentees got to learn how to upload photos onto an online gallery website called Shootproof, which allows for us to store all of the photos the mentees take in one space, and then they can share gallery links to any of our community partners. Afterwards, some mentees wanted to get their headshots taken. They had to interview the mentee who wanted to have headshots taken to best learn what locations to use. After the photoshoot, they learned how to import their photos using the wifi feature on their dslrs to their phones and used then used an app called A Color Story to edit their photos. This workshop was led by Ross LaSalle, who is an alumni mentee from our spring cohort. This was a great chance for them to learn how to edit photos quickly and easily on their phones. We love seeing all the growth our mentees have experienced over the last 3 weeks and can’t wait to see where they end up at the end of mentorship.

Videography Workshop

Our co-founder, Jeremy @je_remy_lopez, led videography workshops over the span of two days. Our mentees learned about Pre-production, Production, and Post-Production, as well as planned out their video project for the Fall. We are so excited to see what our mentees come up with. Freelensing Workshop

Our mentees participated in a freelensing workshop led by, Adri @adridelacruz_photographer. This workshop was super interesting and gave the mentees complete creative control over their photos. Freelensing is a technique used by photographers where the lense is 1cm away from the camera body, this effect gives the photo a vintage look and a unique blur. Our mentees got to ask questions, take notes, and put their knowledge to use.
