Financial Counseling

WE ARE Now offering one on one financial counseling/coaching to

cook county (IL) and clark county (NV) residents ages 18-24

How it works:

We provide 12 one one one sessions (free or low cost) in partnership with accredited or certified financial professionals, such as: Certified Financial Therapist™ (CFT™) Professional, Accredited Financial Counselor® and/or Certified Immigrant Finance® Professional™

Young adults will be able to choose their financial counselor/coach based on the bios below.

Your financial counselor/coach will determine if you will meet weekly or bi-monthly sessions totaling to 3 months or 6 months of counseling.

Some of of our partners have the option for in-person or virtual sessions.

Additionally, please fill out our intake form for us to better understand your financial counseling needs.

Services will be terminated if you have more than two no-shows. As long as you are in communication with your financial counselor/coach, you will not be terminated.

We believe the conversation around money should be shame-free. We want to equip you with how to have a healthy relationship with money, and make informed financial decisions for your present and future. We connect young adults ages 18-24 with accredited or certified financial professionals/coaches. Each young adult has agency in deciding who they want to be connected with. What is discussed between the young adult and coach is confidential, and TFD has no part in those discussions.

You must be:
18-24 years old
Live or go to school in Cook County (IL) or Clark County (NV)
Be an immigrant, first generation college student, BIPOC, or economically disadvantaged.
We are able to provide 12 free or low cost sessions.
If you have earned income (a part-time/full time job), a small fee of $5 per session may apply equaling to a max of $60 for all 12 sessions that can be paid over time. The reason for this is to confirm your commitment to showing up for your sessions. It’s a way to ensure you are honoring our partner’s time too. If you are a student and are unemployed then there is no fee.
